I will dominate 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really going ahead.
